It’s been 90 days since we received the keys and opened the doors to our brand new apartment. 90 days of much teeth gnashing, numerous debates (some heated), many Ikea dinners, constant conversations with Eric our contractor and many weekends spent scouting for furnishings and fittings. Now we are not far away from the big move.
The renovations are done. All the works within the house complete bar one or two minor things. So perhaps it’s worth having a look to see how different the apartment looks from it’s original state 90 days ago.
This is what the living room looked like before.
And what it looks like now after. After we had hacked off the L-shaped wall.
The TV Console/Cabinet was constructed by Coos Design based on a reference we had shared with Eric and we are very pleased with the final product.
We also had the same TV Console/Cabinet fabricated for our Master Bedroom.
Here is a look at what our kitchen looked like originally.
Here is a closer look of what if looks like now.
In one of my previous post, Inspirations, I had discussed the hole in the wall idea we took off Ikea’s Beloved Homes. This is what our version of it looks like.
Our bathrooms have also undergone a pretty drastic transformation. This was probably the most challenging part of our renovation as there wasn’t really a reference we could draw ideas from. What my wife did do though, was to scan through a multitude of websites and magazines to research and find out what elements and materials go well together. From that we managed to throw together a combination that we felt best suits our look and needs. Eric also provided valuable input in terms of what was practical and what wasn’t, helping to break the deadlock when me and the missus could not agree on an option.
This is the before.
Enjoy the after. We certainly are.
Hi, just to check how did ran the livingroom aircon trunking? Did you install a L Box to conceal the trunking on the storeroom wall or exposed the trunking all the way to the mbr?
Thanks!
Hey Roger, yup we ran a L Box to conceal the trunking above the storeroom door.
hi there. We came across your blog and was hoping to get your feedback about your renovation experience with Coos. We have met them for initial discussions and would like to get some opinions from someone who has actually dealt with them.
thanks so much in advance.
Sorry for the late reply. We had no issues with Coos. But we dealt directly with Eric who I believe is the boss.
